Geotiger 240

Ever wanted a more compact GPS setup than the Nikon MC-35, its bulky connector, attached to another bulky Sub-D 9 connector, with its cable to a GPS device? Ever wished you could replace your out-of-date GPS with one of the newer Sirf III models, but never found one that has a serial port cable to fit the MC-35? Well, here’s your answer: the highly popular Holux GPSlim 240 (GR-240) with a special firmware to allow compatability with Nikon Cameras, with a nice, short, unobstrusive cable and a custom designed plug, which houses the necessary electronics as well as a 2.5mm jack socket allowing the use of a (Canon-style) remote release.

Notes:

Most of this data comes directly from the manufactures website and has only been altered for formatting purposes or where specifications have changed due to the firmware modification that was carried out.

* The original firmware was replaced to allow for a baudrate of 4800. This however means that nothing will be transferred via bluetooth, as the bluetooth module only functions at 38400 baud (which is why in the original firmware, changing the baudrate, is disabled). Therefore, although bluetooth connectivity such as pairing with the device still works, no data will be transferred either direction via bluetooth.
