Here you can post all things you think are missing within in the app – we really appreciate your input.

Hi all,

Is it possible to create a clear "quit" button in the Unleashed App so that you can make known to the App as a user you really want to quit completely (= terminating the App) instead of just leaving the App, while running in the background (App stays running as a background service, but UI is terminated) for controlling and/or GPS data provider?

Nowadays, it is not possible for a user to do a clear "quit" from within the App.

There is a clear difference in design between the Unleashed App and (for example) the Musicolet App.
1. Unleashed App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... shed&hl=en)
2. Musicolet App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... olet&hl=en)

You can see clearly the difference between the two Apps. #1 does not offer any exiting/closing options, #2 does offer exiting/closing options.

When you look in the Android Quick Settings Menu, both Apps provide some information. The Unleashed App only informs the user of GPS data being sent contantly. The Musicolet App gives the user a lot of controls and also the possibility to exit/quit/close the App.

See the attached screenshots in the PDF document of what I mean.
(due to size limits of uploads on this forum, shared using wetransfer.com; link here: https://we.tl/t-JAfljgvxHd )

It would be nice to have a clear "quit" button option in both the App screen and the Quick Settings Menu, which you can drop down and select exit/quit.

Nope. It goes against all app guidelines to add an exit button to apps, and though there might be ways to do so, it's not even easy to do so.
Have a read here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/203 ... 38#2034238
or elsewhere on the web about this.

So, no, we won't add an exit button. You can always terminate the app from the app switcher, like everyone else does for every other app, should they ever want to really quit an app.

Problem is that the App doesn't always terminate when using the App switcher "closing" mechanism, pressing: [x]

If they don't terminate properly, then that's by design or incompetence of the app developer, and an exit button would have the same problems.

Ehm,.... I was referring to the Unleashed App and the Musicolet App (on Android) in which the former does not always shut down (even if I have terminated the App correctly) and the latter does shut down correctly each time I use the close/quit button from within the App. I am just saying, to me the closing of the App from within would be preferred over terminating the App.
I am also not shutting down Windows 10 Pro by using Ctrl+Alt+Del, although that is an option. I just use the shutdown button from the 'start' button menu.
