Failed firmware update on Nikon D610

We tested as good as we can. But there will always be things we didn't find. If you found things that apparently don't work as they should, you can report them here so we can take care of them as soon as possible.

Hi. Sent this to support, but never got a response.
I've been trying to update firmware since I got my Unleased a few months back, but it keeps failing.
I've tried to keep the camera awake during the process, but no luck.
I've checked that the unleashed is only pair through the app not through system setting on my iphone
My phones been rebooted several times in the two months I've been trying.
I don't know what the "clear cache" that I see in some of the comments entails.
Can any suggest what else I can try?

Nikon D610
iPhone 7 / iOS 12.2

I can't figure out how to attach the mp4 video here, but it was sent to support email on March 2nd at 1:25pm EST

Hi jpmnyc,

sorry about that! I just checked, and could not find any email from you on that date - maybe it didn't get through, due to the video attachment!?

We have found an issue that seems to affect some (very few) Unleasheds, which made it very difficult to debug. After a long time of trying, we may have found a solution, that will come in the next firmware update. We're doing some final test in the next few days, and hope we can release the update soon after that.

can you confirm that it always fails on the "A" update?

I do believe it's on the "A" upgrade. This is screen right before it fails...

We finally found the issue that is causing the update A to fail on a few devices! We will be releasing another update in a few days that contains a workaround for the problem, and should allow you to finally get that update done!

It's taken us a long time to finally find that (very small) issue, since it only applied to a select few devices. Sorry for the long wait - we're almost there.

OK, app updates with latest firmware including huge improvements in the firmware updating process are released!
Let me know if this solves your issues (do try more than once if it still fails!)

Thanks for your continued focus. I did try the update this afternoon and it got past A and might have finished B (~66%) before failing. I've sent addition details over email. Happy to help troubleshoot.

The firmware update does the update in the order C -> B -> A
So C and B were successful, but A is failing (the most common case)

Do give it a few tries, and hopefully it will work at some point.
