Using N1 without cable in rainy condition is impossible - there should be at least a rubber lid provided to keep water out of the N1. Wasn't a problem at all to use the Unleashed 09 in rainy conditions.

I would also love to get a rubber lid to cover the top plug. Would even be willing to pay extra for that.

OK, thanks!

We're thinking of having one produced. It won't be very soon though - Injection Mold tools are very expensive. We will ask our Manufacturer if he can add this to our current tools...

Please don’t say that it isn’t waterproof as it is?

That would be a MASSIVE design failure, I cannot believe that you’d make such a fundamental error, but looking closely at it, it does look totally exposed to weather. At the very least you should have put the socket at the bottom, not the top.
You haven’t even got a seal on the usb lead so that isn’t really going to protect it against rain.

I really did not expect to have to be using tape to offset poor design, I think you should prioritise making a proper cap for it before you start getting lots of returns....

I would also love to get a rubber lid to cover the top plug and every one should get it for free. The connector without a rubber is massiv design failure especially the connector is at the top!!

Any news on producing a rubber lid to make the N1 waterproof? I hope this accessory is still planned.

Sorry, while we have worked a little on the design of this cap, we have not yet taken any steps towards the production. We are planning to add this to an injection mold tool when we'll start producing a new casing (eg for other camera models). It's simply not feasible to create a tool just for the cap, for the quantities that we'd be able to sell it in.

I'd like to support the motion for a cap - and I was also going to suggest to turn the device around, so that the opening is at the bottom.
In my case, I'm talking about the N2, and I am pretty sure all users would appreciate it!

Noted!

Turning it around would not work for many Cameras - none of the Cameras that fit the N1 have space for the cable below the Unleashed, but even the N2 wouldn't have worked - on most cameras the socket is at the bottom of the camera (D600 andn D7000 series cameras, so the cable would have protruded over the bottom of the camera...

Also, as said before - we also didn't want to give the impression that the Unleashed might be water resistant - after all, with the rubber flaps open, the socket that the Unleashed connects to is open! The socket the N1 connects to is pretty watertight, but the one the N2 connects to is not at all weather sealed! And directly behind it is the main PCB of the camera. So to keep it weather sealed, you d have to cut a perfect hole into the rubber flap so the Unleashed N2 fits through the Flap, and so tightly, that it also gets sealed. Only then would a cap for the unleashed really be worth it.
