Invitation for Beta testers (iOS only for now)

We tested as good as we can. But there will always be things we didn't find. If you found things that apparently don't work as they should, you can report them here so we can take care of them as soon as possible.

Hey Everyone.
We've been reworking, refactoring and fixing lots of things in our firmware for the past few months. Amongst many other things, we've drastically reduced our Bluetooth API, which will hopefully alleviate the issues some people were having with the Android Bluetooth Stack.

Here's the preliminary changelog:

- [Added] New Bluetooth API - extendable and better for Android Bluetooth Stack
- [Added] Failure recovery mechanisms
- [Added] Sleep modes including completely off mode
- [Added] Unleashed settings - many timeouts will be settable from app
- [Added] GPS mode changes to external when pairing a new GPS accessory
- [Improved] USB communication reliability
- [Improved] Communication with Nikon cameras without USB cable
- [Improved] Timelapse and autoramping (completely overhauled)
- [Improved] LED sequences and responsiveness
- [Improved] Accessory connection speed
- [Improved] Tap-to-trigger mechanism
- [Fixed] USB initialization issues
- [Fixed] Slow reconnection issues
- [Fixed] Battery drain issues
- [Fixed] Triggering during playback on Canon
- [Fixed] Bug causing Unleashed to get stuck in sleep mode if it has gone 49 days without losing power
- [Fixed] Bug causing accessories not to reconnect after waking up from sleep mode
- [Fixed] Handling of long lists of setting options
- [Fixed] Partial autoramping (e.g. ramping with manual lenses)

Just to be clear - this is the condensed version of changes that might be noticeable to you, the user. A lot more has happened under the hood, preparing the way for new stuff coming in the near future.

We still have some work to do to make the Android app compatible with this firmware, but in the meantime, we're inviting anyone with iOS to do some beta-testing and give us feedback.

If you're interested, please send us an email to beta@foolography.com and include which iPhone/iPad, which iOS Version, and which camera you're using. Most importantly, send us the email you use for your AppStore account, so we can send the beta invitation to this email.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback!

Once you've accepted the invitation to the Beta app, you can just update the app through the Appstore to get the latest Beta.
The Beta app will come with the latest Beta firmware update, which you will have to install to be able to use the Unleashed with the beta app at all.
Because of the changes in the Bluetooth API, once updated, the Unleashed can not be used with non-beta Apps (eg on a second phone, be it iOS or Android).
However, should you want to, you can opt out of the beta programme anytime, and get the release app from the Appstore. The latest release app includes the capability to downgrade from the beta firmware back to the release firmware.
