{"id":989,"date":"2011-10-18T11:52:25","date_gmt":"2011-10-18T09:52:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.foolography.com\/?p=989"},"modified":"2022-03-30T13:05:38","modified_gmt":"2022-03-30T11:05:38","slug":"canon-announces-gp-e1-with-the-eos-1d-x","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.foolography.com\/de\/2011\/10\/18\/canon-announces-gp-e1-with-the-eos-1d-x\/","title":{"rendered":"Canon announces GP-E1 with the EOS 1D X"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So Canon has finally jumped on the bandwagon!<p>\r\n<p>Canon has just announced their new flagship DSLR, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usa.canon.com\/cusa\/consumer\/products\/cameras\/slr_cameras\/eos_1d_x\">the EOS 1D X<\/a> And the big news is that they have finally decided to add two (or rather one and a half) GPS accessories to their product lineup along with it: the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usa.canon.com\/cusa\/consumer\/products\/cameras\/gps_receivers\/gps_receiver_gp_e1\">GP-E1<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usa.canon.com\/cusa\/consumer\/products\/cameras\/consumer_cameras_wft\/wireless_transmitter_wft_e6a\">WFT-E6A<\/a>:<p>\r\n<p>\r\n<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/news\/1110\/canon\/GPS_GP_E1_2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.foolography.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/GPS_GP_E1_2_300px.png\" alt=\"GPS_GP_E1_2_300px\" title=\"GPS_GP_E1_2_300px\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/news\/1110\/canon\/Wireless_WFT_E6A_1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.foolography.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Wireless_WFT_E6A_1_300px.png\" alt=\"Wireless_WFT_E6A_1_300px\" title=\"Wireless_WFT_E6A_1_300px\" width=\"300\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><br\/>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/articles\/5149972341\/canon-eos-1d-x-overview\"><small>Images via dpreview.com<\/small><\/a>\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p> The GP-E1 is a dedicated GPS Unit, and the WFT-E6 is a wireless file transmitter. However, it seems Canon liked our Idea with the Bluetooth GPS connectivity, and so decided to add that functionality into the WFT-E6. Unfortunately, both devices are compatible only with the new EOS 1D X, and won&#8217;t work with previous generation cameras. Although much smaller than the WFT-E2, both these add-ons are still much bigger than our <a href=\"\/products\/\">Unleashed<\/a>. Oh, and the pricing is supposed to be $300 and $600 respectively, plus the $6800 for the camera you&#8217;ll need to be able to use those accessories ;-)\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>Who knows what we&#8217;ll be able to come up with!?<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"So Canon has finally jumped on the bandwagon!
