Products

We currently focus our development on high-end products for Nikon’s semi-pro and professional DSLRs, from the D200 and up, as well as Fujifilm’s FinePix S5 Pro. These cameras support direct geotagging by connecting a GPS to a proprietary 10-pin port on the front of the camera. Nikon does offer its own solution for geotagging, the MC-35. This is a cable with the 10-pin plug on one side and a huge DB-9 Serial port connector on the other, which also houses some electronics. To this connector you can attach another DB-9 Serial cable, which in turn connects to your GPS. Since this setup is anything but optimal - 2 daisychained cables with those big connectors - our aim is to create simple, elegant and usable solutions for geotagging. One more important factor in our product design is being up to date. With the MC-35, you can only use GPS devices that still have a serial cable, with the old DB-9 connector. This usually means you cannot use any of those tiny, highly sensitive modern GPS receivers, because they don’t come with a serial cable. Instead, they offer connectivity over Bluetooth or a USB cable.

For all non-Nikon users, there are of course products available for you as well, but they are not produced by foolography. In due course, some details will be added in the other products section.
