Plugging in the Unleashed


This tutorial explains how to correctly plug the Unleashed into your camera. Feel free to skip to the part of the video relevant to your Unleashed model:

    1. Plug the Unleashed into the round remote socket in the front. Don’t worry if it’s a little hard to push in at first. The Unleashed is designed to stay on the camera all the time so we made it a tight fit.

    2. Move the rubber flap away or just remove it entirely.

    3. For additional features, such as photo review, use the optional cable. Plug in the square plug into the Unleashed so the cable points away from the lens.

    4. Plug the other end of the cable into the camera. On cameras with USB 3.0 Micro-A ports, the Micro-USB plug fits into the bottom half of the socket (as illustrated below and at 0:43 of the video).

    1. Plug the Unleashed into the square remote socket on the side of the camera. The Unleashed is designed to stay on the camera all the time so we made it a tight fit.

    2. You can also remove the rubber flap in a nearly completely reversible way. Instructions for that can be found on our website.

    3. For additional features, such as photo review, use the optional cable. Plug the USB plug into the USB socket of the camera.

    4. Plug in the other end of the cable into the Unleashed. The cable needs to point towards the front of the camera as in 1:29 of the video (and as illustrated below) or your Unleashed will not function properly.

    1. The USB plug is adjustable so the Unleashed fits multiple Canon models. On cameras with USB 3.0 Micro-A ports, the Micro-USB plug fits into the bottom half of the socket (as illustrated below and at 2:00 of the video).

    2. Start by plugging in the USB plug a tiny bit. Then adjust the Unleashed until the HDMI plug fits. Then push both plugs all the way in.
