Update: We’ve launched the Unleashed ’22 which is compatible with many more camera models than the Unleashed ’18 (check out its dedicated compatibility list). The information below applies only to the Unleashed ’18.
When the Unleashed doesn’t support some cameras it is not because we don’t want to – we would love to support all cameras. However, since we want the Unleashed to fit to the side of the camera, it needs to physically fit into the camera’s sockets. Even though we are able to build versions for multiple groups of cameras, some cameras have a socket arrangement that is unique so they would need a special version i.e. unique hardware. The good news is that with adapters the Unleashed will work on many physically incompatible cameras.
For use with adapters, we recommend the Unleashed C1. For all Canon cameras, except the EOS R5 and R6, you’ll need a Mini-HMDI (HDMI-C) extension. The Canon EOS R5 and R6 need a Micro-HDMI (HDMI-D)(plug) to Mini-HDMI (socket) adapter. Depending on your camera, you’ll need the following USB adapter cables:

Nikon D3300, D3400 & D3500
Unfortunately, the Unleashed will not physically fit the D3300, because the socket is recessed a little too deeply for it to plug in completely. Sadly, there is no solution for this as we can’t justify making an altered version for just one camera model.
As for the D3400 and D3500, Nikon removed the remote-socket from these camera so you won’t be able to plug the Unleashed in at all. Sadly, there is no solution for this. We’re sorry we don’t have better news for you. Maybe your next camera will be compatible with one of the Unleasheds.
Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic & other brands
The Unleashed ’18 is only compatible with Nikon and Canon cameras. The Unleashed ’22 is compatible with Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic, Nikon, and Canon cameras. We are also working on Olympus and Pentax, but cannot give an estimate as to when this version will be available.
